The house at Blue Maples was custom built by John and Phyllis Weddel, and is a replica of his Victorian childhood home. John was not only a master carpenter, but an artist whose creativity is beautifully reflected in the reclaimed Victorian fixtures, fireplace mantel and other wood features that grace the home.
Together, John and Phyllis also built intricately carved grandfather clocks, one of which can be found in the living room.
Throughout the house, guests have access to lovely common rooms featuring large bay windows that provide tremendous views of the forest and local valleys.
When it's cold outside, relax by the Victorian fireplace in the Reading Room, well-stocked with books and magazines. Or sit and chat in our country kitchen, and watch the birds enjoy seeds and suet at their feeders.
Rooms to Dream
We offer three comfortable rooms: a King-sized bedroom with ensuite; a Queen-sized bedroom, and a bedroom with two twin beds. The Queen and the Twin bedrooms share access to the upstairs bathroom. Science has shown us that deep sleep is a key component for regeneration and for restorative health. The forest air, the dark night void of artificial light, the silence, and our big comfy beds allow our guests plenty of room to dream.
